Grillin Bug Hop May 28-30...
To celebrate the beginning of summer, Barb over at BugBites is hosting two consecutive weekends of Bug Hops.
This weekend it is all about the Grillin’, May 28-30.
If you've come from visiting Ashley from Shelly Crafts, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Grillin’ & Chillin’ Bug Hop, click HERE to start from the beginning.
Each designer along the bug trail is featuring a project based on the Grillin’ & Chillin’ theme. What’s more exciting is you can participate too by creating a project and linking it up over at BugBites for a chance to win a Big Prize.
But, there’s a twist. Your project must included at least one Cricut cut and at least one of the critters that have been hidden within some of the bug stop blogs. Be sure to visit all the bug stops to find all your critter choices.
While you are looking for the critters, be sure to check out the blog candy that each designer has to offer you. You don't want to miss out on any of it!This is my idea of Summer grilling. Laying in the sun and getting the best tan ever. And of course the place for that is on the beach. I live only one hour away from the beautiful Pacific ocean. I cut the hot dog from Everyday Paper Dolls. I cut it twice and layered the hot dog. I made the towel and the sun. I ran the sand through the Swiss Dot folder and sanded it lightly. The shoes, sunglasses and hat are stickers. Most of the paper is Recollections. Check out my bug candy below. I'd love it if you become a follower but you have to leave a comment to be eligible to win. Enjoy the hop. Now hop on over to
Lisa at Indy Mermaid and see what she has in store for you today.
Remember, once you have hopped to all the bug stops, it's your turn to show us your Grillin’ & Chillin’ project.
Make sure to include a Cricut cut somewhere on your project, include one of the hidden critters and link up your project over at BugBites by Midnight CST May 30 to be eligible for the big prize.
It's not big but it's good. There are 3x3 note cards with envelopes to decorate. Some rub on transfers. A plain note book with a closure to decorate. And no bug hop would be complete without a bug punch. I will do a random drawing on Monday morning. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Debi

This is called a Lovie or a Snodel.
This is a blanket doll that is suppose to promote sleep in infants. It's called an aromatherapy doll. The parents sleep with it for a couple of nights to get their scent on it and then give it to the baby at nap time and at night time. I made it and sent it to my daughter just this past week. I hope it works.
I wondered if anyone else has heard of this type of doll? They say that they are used for very small, premature babies and also in children hospitals. My daughter just wanted one to promote naps. I guess we'll see if it works. I'll keep you posted. The web site for these is www.snoedel.com but they are really very easy to make. Thank you for stopping by. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Hey if you any idea's on how to get infants to nap during the day, please let me know so I can pass it on to my daughter.
Hugs, Debi

A Challenge at Cardz TV
This challenge is to use any fruit. This is what I came up with. I used stickles on the grapes. I like this paper. It's an older stack of DCWV. I got it very inexpensive at Joann's. I hope you will all go over and join in the challenge. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Hugs, Debi

A mother's day card for my daughter.
This is a different kind of card. It's called a suprise pop up card. You can find how it's done here. I made it so that it's also a card when you open it up but you can also just use the tag and the pop up for the card in it's self. I used a cut from "A Child's Year". The paper is from a very old DCWV paper stack. I used some pop up sticker flowers and I added some stickles to a few of the dots. I was really happy with the way it turned out. I make alot of cards and forget to take pictures of them before I mail them out. I hope I'm not the only one who does that. Here's what it looks like when you pull the tag up. Okay, let me know what you think. Oops, it's hard to tell what it says inside. "A mother holds her child's hand for awhile, their hearts forever". Happy Mother's Day to you all. Big Hugs, Debi
